Who Needs a Residential Locksmith

A securely locked door is your first line of defense against intruders. Unfortunately, unless you know exactly who holds keys to your home, that line may be pretty weak. If you need new locks in your home call Advance Auto Locksmith and ask about our residential locksmith services. There are several reasons that you may need to change your locks, including:

  • You’ve lost your key and need lock rekeying services
  • Your lock has been tampered with
  • Your keys were stolen
  • The lock mechanism is worn and no longer works reliably
  • You want to upgrade to a digital door lock
  • Your current lock is builder’s grade and you want something more secure

The difficulty of changing a lock varies. If you are replacing your lock with an identical one and no new holes are needed in the door or door jam, then you may be able to take on the job yourself. However, if you are upgrading to a better lock, then you need the proper tools and training to ensure the job is done properly. Even best-in-class locks may not provide adequate security if they aren’t installed correctly, so in most cases, it’s best to let a professional handle it.
